I learned about the Alliance for African Women Initiative (AFAWI) through the UN Online Volunteering website. I work with Philip, AFAWI’s Project Coordinator, to write grant proposals seeking funding for AFAWI’s activities.This includes the sexual maturation project in Northern Ghana that seeks to ensure equality in education for boys and girls by providing education on menstrual management practices and sexual health and also by creating leadership opportunities for girls in the school environment. Philip and I work together to identify new funding sources for AFAWI outside Ghana.
I am a non-practicing lawyer, born and educated in Ireland but living in the US with my husband and two teenage children.
