  • What does it takes to be Part of AFAWI?
    We kindly welcome everybody who is interested in joining us on our journey and shares our beliefs. AFAWI is a grassroots Ghanaian organization that has been striving to narrow the gender gap and empower women and children in Ghana for over ten years. We strongly believe in sustainable and equitable development and our projects aim to create an enabling environment for the vulnerable in society.
  • Do I have to be an African to be part of AFAWI?
    No. Being a member of AFAWI is not connected to your nationality, gender or religion.
  • Can I Join as a Man?
    Yes. Being a member of AFAWI is not connected to your gender.
  • Do I have to pay to Join AFAWI?
    Yes. There is an annual membership fee, depending on the type of membership you chose. For the organizational membership the annual amount is $50,00. For the Professional Membership it´s $30, 00 and for students is $20, 00 for a year. With this fee you support the work and projects of AFAWI and it’s only used by taken into consideration high ethical standards.
  • What Benefits do I get for Joining AFAWI?
    - Invitation and free entry to our Annual International Women's Day Conference. - Invitation to the Annual General Meetings. - Voting right to elect Board of Directors of AFAWI. - Right to apply to become Board of Director of AFAWI. - Quarterly newsletter with updates concerning the projects and work of AFAWI. - Being part of the progress in a developing country. - Proof of voluntary commitment for your CV.
